A life well-lived has come to an end, and we find ourselves reflecting on the passing of Mary Elizabeth Kee, a beloved member of the Ballybofey community. Doreen, as she was affectionately known, has left an indelible mark on those around her, and her absence will be deeply felt.
Doreen's passing has brought together her loving family, including Norman, Heather, Ciarán, Emma, Cormac, James, Enda, and Lola, who will forever cherish the memories they shared. Her brothers, sisters, and an extended network of relatives, friends, and neighbors are also grieving this loss.
But here's where it gets controversial... Doreen's funeral procession will embark on a journey from Galway to Saint John's Church of Ireland in Kilteevogue, Ballybofey. This afternoon (Friday, December 26th), the service will commence at 1 p.m., providing a solemn opportunity for the community to pay their respects. Following the service, Doreen will be laid to rest at Stranorlar Church of Ireland, The Glebe, a place that will forever hold her memory.
And this is the part most people miss... the funeral is a time to celebrate Doreen's life and the impact she had on those around her. It's a chance to reflect on the joy she brought and the love she shared. So, while we mourn her passing, let's also remember the happiness she brought to so many.
Family flowers are requested, and for those wishing to make a donation, the Alzheimer's Association (Donegal Branch) would greatly appreciate your support. Their CRA number is 20018238.
As we navigate this difficult time, let's come together as a community and support each other. Doreen's legacy will live on through the memories we hold dear.
