Citybox Oslo is a modern and affordable hotel located in the heart of Oslo. The hotel offers a vibrant shared lounge area with a flat-screen TV, creating a lively atmosphere for guests to relax and socialize. The rooms are minimalistic yet comfortable, with an emphasis on cleanliness and comfort. Guests can enjoy the convenience of kiosk check-in and fully automated check-out processes. Despite the compact size of the rooms, the hotel prioritizes spacious common areas for guests to unwind.
Stay was great. The bed was incredibly comfortable, it was all clean, the location was awesome, and the common areas of the hotel were popping. The shower temperature and pressure were great. We liked the kiosk check-in.I did have trouble locking my door from the inside. We felt very safe though so that wasn't a problem. The room is also quite small, so you won't be spending much time in it. I think that's just a Norway thing though; they prefer to emphasize the large and abundant common areas.

A 🌟 only for their top location. Walking distance to Oslo central station. They don’t clean the rooms even when you ask them. They provide you extra towels. Elevator is so slow and small, for such a big hotel is not enough and you have to wait for ages to get available. Dirty floors. My single room was a narrow, single bed in a tiny room. Very small toilet and shower. Very economical and profitable for the company. I would say, this looked like a hostel and not a hotel. It was not worse for such a rate to get this quality. Also, the check in was easy, you can type your confirmation number and the machine provides you key room. I would not recommend this place.

This hotel is a self-service setup. You check-in and out yourself with no or minimal contract with any staff. The rooms are very basic and small, but the bed was comfortable and you have the essentials. The price is below average and the location is fantastic being a stones throw from the central station. While there are plenty of nicer hotels, if you're looking for an affordable, central, no frills option, this could be the hotel for you.

Super central, everything can be reached on foot. There are also plenty of bus and tram stations so you can move around very easily.Rooms are super clean and the bed was also super comfy (if you like soft beds). The curtains are also very thick so you can sleep in a dark room even if there is a lot oflight outside.Automated check-in and check-out are very handy (especially if you arrive late at night) but I personally missed the human touch. I am a little old school :)All and all I would definitely recommend and come back!

Looking for a hotel that combines convenience, and affordability? Look no further! From its ideal location to its social areas, this hotel truly exceeded my expectations.Situated in the heart of the city, it offers easy access to all the must-see attractions. The several inviting social areas provide the perfect spaces to unwind. Although check in and check out are done on the machines, the staff are available 24/7, and are friendly and attentive.Although the rooms and bathrooms may be on the smaller side, they are clean and has a modern design. While there is no TV, don’t most of us use our phones or tablets anyway? The pram stops right outside and be aware of the noise from the nightclub and trafic. Nevertheless with its reasonable price tag, this hotel offers incredible value for money. I can confidently say that I will be returning.

Very good location with friendly staff ! The single room is very small but the bed super comfy. Everything was very clean ! It was a bit noisy at times from rooms above. I can recommend the hotel, the vibe is like in a hostel but is good for families as well. The common areas are great, especially the kitchen area with microwaves.

Nice hotel with modern reception. The room was clean. The only thing I didn't like was the strange unpleasant smell in the room and the view from the window. I liked the price per night and the location of the hotel. As well as the politeness of the hotel receptionist's girl at the entrance. She helped me solve my question together with her colleague, who was sitting at the computer. thank you very much!

I recently had the pleasure of staying at this hotel and I can highly recommend it. The rooms were not only clean but also cozy, which made my stay very comfortable. What really stood out to me was the staff: everyone was extremely friendly, helpful, and above all, very understanding. No matter what request I had, they always went out of their way to accommodate me and provide assistance. This level of service truly made my stay a delightful experience. If you're looking for a hotel with a warm and welcoming atmosphere, this is the place to be!

The hotel is located right in the center with lots of bakeries and coffee shops around it. It is a 10 min walk to the waterfront and the opera area. The rooms are minimalistic but very comfortable. Check in and check out are fully automated through a machine in the entrance hall and are very easy. There is an improvised kitchen with microwaves and vending machines on the ground floor and a coffee shop with access from the kitchen area. The common sitting areas are very pleasing. All in all, great value for money

Great customer service. The double room was a tad small, same with the bathroom, but neat and clean. Our room came with AC but it did not work unfortunately. Staff was super helpful with towels, bag storage etc.

I had a delightful stay at the hotel. The cleanliness was impeccable, creating a serene atmosphere. The rooms were remarkably quiet, providing a peaceful environment for relaxation. The warmth and coziness of the rooms made my stay exceptionally comfortable. The hotel's strategic location was perfect for my business trip, adding to the overall positive experience.

For a budget stay, this is probably one of the nicer hotel experiences I've had in Oslo. It's centrally located and close to local public transport. The room was warm and cozy, even in late November. The room is basic but nicely furnished, without garish branding everywhere. The beds were comfortable and the bathroom surprisingly spacious for a small double room. Everything was clean. My only critique is that the manual lock on the door was difficult from the inside.

Pretty decent place with clean and cozy rooms, polite staff, and good cafe nearby with 10%/20% discount for breakfast buffet and dinner respectively. Not far from the Oslo Central Station.Strongly recommend, esp. with the "Friend" program

Lovely hotel, friendly staff, easy check in and check out experience. Room was comfortable. Location was amazing for us.Only complaint would be that the shower was quite unclean when we got to the room but we didn’t expect everything to be perfect so it’s fine. Loved our stay and would recommend. 🫶🏼

We were in a very small room - much smaller than the other standard rooms. We couldn't walk around the bed which meant we had to climb over each other if we needed the bathroom in the night. We did ask if we could move but apparently, there weren't any other standard rooms available. We saw many other standard rooms and they were much more comfortable. I don't think this room should be rented as a double.

The hotel is very central. Everything is nearby even the central station. Staff are super friendly and helpful. Our room was also comfortable. The place was really good for us during our time in Oslo even the restaurant where we had breakfast offered a discount for staying at the hotel. I would highly recommend this hotel facilities are always clean

Great hotel with unbeatable location. Clean rooms (stayed there twice), nice common areas, you can self-check in and out, if you are paying with cash you can check in at the office desk.Considering the location the rooms were very quiet. They have baggage holding service, locked room, I left my bag there for two days, it was safe. There is a cafe and a restaurant on the ground floor, they also have conference rooms for meetings.

Very central hotel. It is a budget hotel in terms of the Norwegian pricing market, and you won’t have services like a reception, cleaning or bar. You will do the check-in and out by yourself. If you are planning a short stay, this hotel is for you! There are two cafes/restaurants next to the hotel that offers breakfast and dinner with a discount. If you want breakfast, I recommend the cafe that provides the buffet. It’s a bit messy, but the quality of the food you get is exceptional, and the price is excellent!

City Box Oslo is conveniently located close to the station and harbour and easy walking to many tourist sites.Well priced with clean, comfortable rooms. Heated bathroom floor was a nice benefit for cooler weather.Laundry facilities, microwaves, fridges and seating area downstairs were great.Customer service was friendly and helpful when extra towels requested.

This hotel is great for a stay in Oslo. It is in the city centre and close to the highlights and central station of Oslo. The room was small but clean. Nice bathroom as well. Check in and check out are easy and fast as well. I would come back if I would visit Oslo again!

Would stay here again as it is very convenient and comfortable. My only 2 complaints is that they don't clean the rooms during your stay unless you request it. We requested it and they said they would, but never did. Also we paid for 2 drying cycles in the laundry room and both cycles did not dry our clothes at all after the wash. We had to hang them to dry in the bathroom and on the radiator in the room. It's not a big issue but it would be nice to get a service you pay for.

Fantastic hotel with literally the best location in the city. I was able to tour the entire city just by using the metro and tram that are literally right outside the hotel (or a 4 minute walk for metro). The hotel itself was incredibly clean and the rooms were perfect for a solo traveler. I got some of my best sleep in the beds too. 12/10, amazing work! Can’t wait to come back!

Stay here with my family (including 4 year old) for a night. Checkin/checkout was easy, it’s through the machine. You cannot enter the hotel with checking in and getting your key. Rooms & bathroom are small as expected but clean. Basic amenities are provided. Bed and pillows super comfortable surprisingly. There is no air conditioning in the room so when it gets hot in Oslo prepare to suffer in the room at night ( it did when we were there) thanks to global warming it can get really hot nowadays. Opened the window for some air but the room faces the road with bars. So there was a lot of drunk people screaming at night. Could not sleep at all with the noise, only if there was air conditioning I could have closed the window and slept on the comfy bed peacefully.Lots of common areas with games in the hotel for socializing, kids loved the games. There are 2 cafes down attached to the hotel. They also have luggage storage. Great location, walking distance to restaurants/station/ sights/supermarket. Everything is so seamless and well planned you just need to be a little independent. It would have been a perfect stay for us if not for the noise and missing air conditioning. Hotel really needs to plan that. Stay here in summer only if you can bear the heat and stuffy room or don’t mind opening the window and hearing loud noise till 3am.

Great Location and easy (although impersonal/automated) check-in/checkout process. Rooms were small but clean and the WiFi was good throughout the hotel. If you’re used to luxury accommodations with full service, this is not the place for you. But if you want something clean and reasonable in the heart of it all, this is an excellent choice. There’s a small shared kitchen and the restaurant in the corner has a decent breakfast buffet.

Great location walkable to opera house, bus tours, metro. The restaurants located within the building but not part of City Box give guest a discount, the buffet breakfast is so good!! Has self service laundry so that came in super helpful when we had been traveling for a few days and needed to freshen up our clothes.

It located close to train station about 7 mins walk. Walk to Main Street about 8 minutes. Foods and shop next to the hotel.Booked via official website received the confirmation by email half year ago before arrival. Self checked-in don’t have my booking information, pressed the call button staff come to help quickly still unable find my booking in their system. Staffs are friendly and helpful for rebook charge the same amount when I booked (book with discount)Booked for single room at building B on second floor, the room is very clean and enough space. The problem is too close to Tram station can hear the tram even close the window. Recommend bring your own body wash and hair wash. Turn off the heating still very warm in March -1 degrees with snowing. The bed is very comfortable. Will be back again.

Hotel is in a great location, close to most of the highlights of the city, and with a tram stop in front of it. The main issue is the room, blinds that let the light in at 4am and insulated issue with the window, since I could hear other guest talking across the yard like they were inside my room.

Does not feel like a budget hotel in any way. The free luggage storage before check in and after check out is convenient. You can use their excellent and very large lounge for free even after you’ve checked out. The room was in perfect new condition. You don’t ever need to talk to staff but when I did, they were very friendly and helpful. I’d choose citybox before a traditional hotel anytime I have the option.

Automatic check-in, No security, People not fromthe hotel in hallway, broken vending machines, very claustrophobic rooms and elevator, not the cleanest rooms, window can not fully shut, bagage room is not secured so anyone can take your stuff, location is only thing its worth it but very noisy due to thin walls and also outside noise. Reception not manned and hidden, would be better if there was a more welcoming reception and security, …

During my entire visit, I only ever saw 2 emoyees. The young man, I think was the manager, was helpful, polite and professional, but quite obviously overloaded. He asked a girl in the office to check me in and she seriously lacked any social skills at all. I got checked in went to my room. I wanted inexpensive, and I got what I paid for. The room was small, but clean. 0 amenities and not even a spare towel, although it does have a sign in the bathroom that says that you can pick up extras from the front desk, also my window wouldn't lock. The location is very good, right near the Port of Oslo, which was convenient as I arrived by ship, and they have a resteraunt right next to the lobby that is not affiliated with the hotel. If you like to have a glass of wine before dinner, be careful though, high taxes on alcohol in Norway make any alcohol insanely expensive. I ordered a single glass of wine when I arrived and paid with a card, without checking the price before hand. $22.00 for a single glass of house wine. Know your conversion rate.

The self check in process was very straightforward. My room 565 was clean and comfortable. I did not use any of the other facilities at the hotel, so can't comment on those

The single-room was spacious enough for me and my stuff. The check-in/check-out was very uncomplicated. If you expect staff to care for you, this is not the right hotel you, although they are available 24/7 on demand. The location was great, only a short walk to the opera and in general nicely situated. The room was clean and everything worked all right.Minus for me: my room was situated opposite to an office building. There was only one curtain on the window, which was not see-through. So i only had the choice between a dark room where the working people could not see me or a room with daylight but exposed to everyone on the other side of the street. Would have welcomed a sheer curtain to block off looks but not the whole daylight.Although the hotel is situated directly at the street, there was no noise disturbing me at night. The only thing I noticed was that it was quite poorly insulated as I was able to hear every step from the person in the room above me.Overall it was okay for the price but nothing I would recommend for a longer stay in Oslo.

A nice hotel located in the close walking distance to Oslo train station. All attractions i.e. shopping streets, the cathedral, museums, fortress, opera house, and royal palace, and harbour are all walkable. The room was compact as I booked for a single room but things functioned efficiently. There were common rooms, meeting rooms downstairs for meeting facilities. Checking in and out was very smooth because the system was automatic. The hotel and the room was sparkling clean.Highly recommended.

Citybox Oslo is a great base for exploring Oslo. The location is excellent; close to the waterfront and all its attractions and with easy access to the train station and transit. The building has a modern chic vibe and the room was clean and comfortable. A few things could be improved such as updates to the bathrooms; lighting, heating, etc. Service from staff was inconsistent. Overall, I would still recommend this hotel as a good place to stay in Oslo.

The location is fantastic, 5 - 10 minutes walk to the key attractions. The room size is decent, clean. The host was really helpful, first with taking in the luggage before check-in and assist with a kettle. The shower head and tap is workable but could be renewed as it is leaking. It was a little noisy from the street. This is a self service hotel, so cannot compare to others full service ones.

This hotel offers a modern yet minimalist experience, with compact rooms lacking in amenities such as shelves, featuring only a bed, desk, and chair. While some may find the soft beds uncomfortable, the spacious bathrooms with underfloor heating are a definite highlight.Suitable for budget travelers seeking a simple overnight stay, the hotel provides all the basics without any frills. Don't expect luxury, but for a quick and affordable rest, it certainly does the job.

It was my first time there, and it was great. Kind of a mix of a hotel and hostel, equipped with your own bathroom, but with a shared kitchen. There are cafes/restaurants connected to the building with food if you want to go that route (10% discount) or you can take a trip to the grocery store and utilize the kitchen. The location is amazing, and I could see the Opera House from my room. 4 minute walk to the water. Inside, I saw all kinds of people -- hipsters, families with small children, fully tattooed couples, and mostly just "normal looking" people. Everyone was friendly and just minding their own business. Very nice atmosphere.Having said that, if you're like me and like a view/the sun, make sure to get a room facing outward--there are rooms on the interior parts that look a little dismal to me. I got lucky 🍀 and mine was a single bed loft room on the top floor. Would highly recommend it.

Excellent experience for a good price. Curious in a good way, Citybox Oslo combines multiple buildings into one facility. Rooms were clean and spacious though slightly lacking in features. A place to rest a suitcase or two would be nice. The attached restaurant is perfect too. I would definitely return. The proximity to Oslo Sentral is hard to beat.

Can't be beaten for the price. Really easy check in and check out. Clean, comfortable beds, good bathroom, nice TV lounges and communal areas downstairs, self service kitchen with kettle, sink, microwave etc. safe friendly atmosphere with a chilled vibe. Perfect for a few-days stay in Oslo. Location is great, right in the centre. The price, for Oslo, is very good. Check-in and check-out are automated and go very smoothly. The rooms are big enough, clean, and equipped with all necessities. There is a small table, lots of sockets, hangers and even a hair dryer. In the bathroom, you'll find towels, cups and soap. Beds are comfortable, with warm quilts and choice of pillows.Downstairs, there is a common area with a TV and some sofas, as well as a kitchen with vending machines, fridge, kettle, microwave, sink and disposable dishes. You can get a kettle for your room if you go to the reception. The hotel also provides a 10% discount in two restaurants that are located in the same building. A nice bonus! We enjoyed our time here.

This hotel has only one exceptional thing, its location. The room we decided to book wasn't small, it was claustrophobic. If you have this condition, do not decide to book a small room because it's very stressing. In the room there's no TV, no "air con" and some rooms face an interior courtyard where the voices of the guests can be heard, so if you need silence to sleep, you could have a hard experience. Finally a very impersonal hotel, it is practically unattended, where machines do the work of check in and check out. Decide yourself where to stay.

+ The rooms are clean and the 11m2 single from is perfect for one person. The prime location is also a huge plus, with the hotel being only around 5 minutes walk from Oslo Central Station.- The room I stayed in, although on the 5th floor, was susceptible to the noise from the busy street below. As the buses and trams run till late at night and start early in the morning, I woke up multiple times during the two nights of my stay despite having ear buds plugged in.My greatest feedback to the hotel management is to upgrade to higher quality sound insulated windows.

Perfect place, at first i thought it was tiny but its rather big inside, packing a punch when it comes to facilities, lots of places to make your own chill zone.. good vibes here everyone seems to be very happy. We really enjoyed our stay. I would recommend being here. Rooms are somewhat basic. We had no T.V but didn’t care we had our own devices. Everything was tidy and clean.. didn’t see the need for anything more.

Good location. Rooms are decent to stay for a night. The air conditioning doesn't work, the excuse the staff gave was it's centralized and they cannot do anything. They handed out a portable fan. The sports area is a gimmick as the staff did not have Darts to give. The staff did not have an idea to deal with the problems and they kept their staff room closed.

This hotel is perfect for me. No drama. Always clean and well maintained. Simple check-in and check out. Great location. The little restaurant on the first floor has great coffee and pastries, and also more elaborate breakfasts, to get you started in the morning. For later in the day there is amazing pizza. Definitely a "comfort" spot.

I think one of the cheapest options in Oslo. But if I would know that all pics of this hotel are taken 10 years back, I wouldn’t book it.The area is terrible, so dirty, loud and I did not feel safe there. 5 min of walking distance to the Train central station. The hotel is old, the ground floor is dirty, not pleasant. Half of couches are looking not good. The luggage room is dirty (again) and looks like it’s in old warehouse. The vending machines with drinks and snacks are not working. So if you want to buy a water or any other snacks, you have to go to a grocery store. The room was okish, looks clean. But the windows are terrible, old wooden windows that are not closing properly. So, 0% of noise cancellation is there. Cars, trams, screaming people outside till, at least, 2 am. So be ready for that. I had to put my noise canceling headphones to fall asleep.Breakfast is not available. There are two places are next door where you can eat. Again, dirty and unpleasant. I don’t know what is happened in Oslo…Do not recommend this hotel if you like clean and fresh accommodation, if you like to sleep in a quiet place and if you like to feel safe behind the hotel door!
